Two drowned off Australia beach, one missing

They were trying to save the teenagers who got caught in the strong tides

Hydrabad: A software engineer and another man from Telangana drowned off a beach in Australia while trying to rescue three teenagers trapped in strong tides, said the family members on Tuesday.“Syed Rahat (35), a software engineer from Hyderabad and working in Sydney, along with Ghouse (45) drowned, while 28-year-old Junaid is missing”, said Ali, a relative of Rahat. He said that they got to know about the incident on Monday. "We are planning to go to Australia," he said.

                 Ali relatives in Australia told them that on Monday evening, a group of three families went for a picnic on Moone Beach. The teenagers of the group who went for a swim got caught in the strong tides. Hearing their cries for the help, the three men jumped into the sea to rescue them, during which two of them drowned and one went missing.

                The three teenagers were saved by other rescuers and were admitted to a hospital, said Ali. He also said that as per the information given by their relatives, the search operation to locate Junaid was in progress.

           "He (Junaid) is still missing... we are unable to comprehend what happened. The Telangana and Central governments should help us trace him", said the family members.
