Entire India went into shock after a Hindu leader named Sudhir Suri of the Shiv Sena party was shot dead on Friday in Amritsar amidst Police security. The shooting took place outside a temple (Gopal Mandir) when Shiv Sena leaders (Uddhav Thackeray faction) were protesting, and a shopkeeper named Sandeep Sunny shot at him. Following the incident, one accused was detained by the police. Reportedly, Sudhir was on the hit list of Pro Khalistan groups. Now, terrorist Landa Harike has claimed responsibility for the murder of the Shiv Sena leader. Landa took responsibility in a Facebook post saying that 'This is just a beginning'.

Landa Harike in his post wrote that he is taking responsibility for the murder of the Shiv Sena leader and it is just the beginning. Landa further wrote that those who think that they are safe in Police protection, need to think twice. It is pertinent to mention here that, True Scoop News does not confirm if the post is authentic. Reportedly, Punjab Police Cyber Cell is currently probing the authenticity of the post by Rinda and in pursuit of it the officials are trying to locate the IP address. Furthermore, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav on Friday night during a press conference also stated that strict will be taken against those spreading rumors in the Sudhir Suri murder case.

Who is Landa Harike?

For the unversed, Lakhbir Singh, alias Landa (33), has also been named as the key handler of the rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) attack at Punjab Police intelligence headquarters in Mohali. Reports further suggest that the first case was registered against Landa for a murder bid under the Arms Act at Harike Pattan in July 2011. He is facing 18 criminal cases, including murder, attempt to murder, and drugs smuggling, in Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Moga, and Ferozepur districts. Punjab Police had registered the last case against Landa under kidnapping charges in Moga in May 2016 before he fled to Canada. Not only this, Tarn Taran police also wanted a red corner notice against Landa in another case and had also written to the Central Government to issue RCN against the notorious criminal.

Shiv Sena leader murder case in a nutshell

On Friday, Sudhir Kumar Suri, the Shiv Sena leader was shot at around 3:30 pm near Gopal Mandir on Friday. Sudhir Kumar Suri was on the hit list of Pro-Khalistan elements for the past few months. Reportedly, the accused shot 2 bullets at Sudhir while he was in the dharna. His supporters were also present there when the incident took place. Explaining the incident, witnesses told that as he was on a protest, someone suddenly fired on him after which he was taken to the Escort Hospital by his security personnel. Police reveal that some unidentified youths came near Gopal Mandi, and opened fire on Sudhir Kumar Suri. Soon after this, he was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead.
