Thane: Manhunt launched against miscreant targeting apartments with Diwali rockets; Watch

A video showing a man shooting rockets targeting an apartment said to be coming from Maharashtra’s Thane has gone viral.

The incident prompted police to launch a manhunt against the man shown in the video by registering an FIR by imposing relevant sections of IPC against the miscreant.

Police have taken cognizance after the video from Ulhasnagar, Thane was posted on Instagram. The video shows rockets targeted at a building by a man releasing rockets into the apartments of the block one after the other in windows and balconies on floors above.

The man was charged under IPC sections 285 (negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible mat­ter), 286 (negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance), and 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), an official added.

Apart from it, reports have surfaced showing 11 different cases of fire due to firecrackers being reported from Thane. A municipal corporation official while talking to the press said, "The Thane Fire Brigade received a total of 16 calls yesterday, out of which 11 were about a fire caused due to firecrackers."

While several incidents of fire were also reported in Mumbai and neighboring areas owing to the firecrackers on Diwali night.
