However, depending on its performance at the box office, The Great Indian Family might be released on Prime Video early since the month of October is going to be filled with festivals including Diwali. As per the box officer collection reading website Sacnilk, The Great Indian Family earned 1.40 Cr India net on its first day (early estimates). Also Gaiety Galaxy Theatre in Bandra had to cancel The Great Indian Family show due to a meager turnout, with only four tickets sold. The Gaiety Galaxy Theatre, known for its historical significance and vibrant atmosphere, typically hosts packed houses for major film releases. It was a shock fo sure to the theater management and the film's production team when they realized that the first show would not go as planned.
During one his interviews on the promotion of his film, Vicky had opened yup about his family memories during his early childhood days. Vicky had said, "If I jog my memory, films like Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Hum Saath - Saath Hain, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Swarg, etc. are etched in my mind with such fond memories. I used to watch these beautiful films with my parents and I simply loved the time we as a family have had viewing some of these classics."
