Brie Larson is all set to mark her return as Carol Dancers aka Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the upcoming film The Marvels. However, the actor is uncertain beyond that stage about her future in the franchise.

In the recent interaction, the actor revealed that people may not want to see her in that role any longer. The actor has faced some sort of opposition from a section of Marvel fans after she was first portrayed in the iconic character back in 2019.

On Brie’s debut, many fans complained that her portrayal of Carol Danvers was not faithful to the comics. There were complaints that she is overpowerful and too blunt. While, Many defended her too, claiming the criticism was sexist as nobody says the same things about similarly-powered male superheroes.

In an interview with the American Magazine Variety at the D23 Expo, Brie was asked how long will she be playing that role to which she replied, “I don’t know, Does anyone want me to do it again? I really don't know. I don't have the answer to that.”

Captain Marvel upon its release faced an utterly disgusted response on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes, which prompted to change in the way user rating was generated.

Brie was heavily criticized on social media. The actor reprised her role in Avengers: Endgame and was last seen as Carol in a post-credits scene in the Disney+ show Ms. Marvel. She will reprise her role in The Marvels, which releases next year.

A Nia DaCosta’s directorial ‘The Marvel’ will see Brie’s Captain Marvel character Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel, and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau altogether and is scheduled to release on July 28th, 2023.
