"This is most unethical": Boney Kapoor upset with SS Rajamouli For Clashing RRR With Maidaan | RRR,Maidaan,Maidaan-Biopic- True Scoop

The makers of S.S. Rajamouli’s much-awaited movie RRR announced that the film will be hitting the screens on October 13, 2021. The makers of the film took to Twitter to confirm the news and announced the new release date. However, the release date of RRR has clashed with Boney Kapoor's produced movie Maidaan. Maidaan stars Ajay Devgn in a pivotal role. It is a biopic based on the life of football legend Syed Abdul Rahim. Over 6 months ago the makers of the biopic film announced that the Devgn starrer would hit cinemas in the Dussehra week.

This has upset the makers of Maidaan. Interestingly, both movies have cast Ajay Devgn. Reports say that  Ajay Devgn had asked SS Rajamouli to speak to Boney Kapoor before announcing RRR’s release date.

Bollywood Hungama quoted an insider who said, "Ajay is aware that his prestigious bio-pic Maidaan on football legend Syed Abdul Rahim was due in the Dussehra week this year. He very specifically told Rajamouli to speak to Boney Kapoor before announcing his release date. But Rajamouli went ahead without consulting Boney."

The web-portal also quoted Boney Kapoor who said, "Of course I am upset! This is most unethical. I announced my release date for Maidaan six months ago. At a time when we should all be coming together to save the movie industry, he (Rajamouli) has gone and done this."
