Following the death of the well-known Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, the process of receiving threatening calls from common people to VVIPs has not stopped. Now a new name of Saint Niranjan Das of Dera Ballan has also been added. Like other people, the Dera Ballan saint has received phone threats. It is suspected that this call came from Kapurthala jail.

The police also notified the Kapurthala jail authorities. The Kapurthala Jail Administration then searched each prisoner's cell in the jail. But the jail authorities said that they were not told that the call threatening Saint Niranjan Das was made from Kapurthala jail. They had searched at the behest of the countryside police in Jalandhar.

Iqbal Singh, the jail superintendent, stated that he routinely checks the prisoners' cells in the jail. Mobiles are also often caught in jail. However, the jail administration is unable to determine where the threatening call originated from. For this, the police can find its location by putting the mobile number on surveillance.

Saint Niranjan Das of Dera Ballan has received a threat that when he goes abroad, he will not go there and propagate religion.  After getting threatening phone calls, the Dera Sachkhand Ballan Trust reported the matter to SSP Dehat Swarnadeep Singh. These days the Dera saint is in Spain on a foreign tour. He will then travel to Germany, France, and the Netherlands to attend religious events there. The police administration has received a complaint from the dera, who has asked them to write a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs requesting security for him there.

SSP Dehat Swarnadeep Singh said that he has received a complaint about threatening calls to the saint of Dera Sachkhand Ballan. He is investigating it closely. He said that a message has been sent to Indian agencies to ensure safety abroad as well
