Three including Son of ADCP, Amit Talwar booked for fraud, misappropriation of funds in Jalandhar
Charanpreet Singh Dali, son of ADCP- City 1 HarvinderSingh Dalli, among two others have been booked for committing fraud, cheatingand misappropriation of funds.
The other two accused have been identified as Amit Talwar,a resident of Radio Colony and Manoj Kumar Madhukar, a resident of Zirakpur.
The three accused had reportedlyrecovered Rs 2.24 crore from the complainant on the pretext of investment in ahotel business. The amount was taken from them in return for refundable investment;however they used it for their personal use.
As per information, the investigation of the whole matter was firstsuppressed by the Commissionerate Police. However, the complainant after filingrepeated complaints with the higher officials in Chandigarh got the caseregistered against them under sections 406, 420, 120B of IPC.
The complainants Rashpal Singh, a resident of Guru GobindSingh Nagar and his partner Jaswinder Singh, resident of Leeview GreenApartment, Mithapur Road and Mehakpreet Singh, resident of Green Model Townblamed the local police for not taking an appropriate action for two years.
"The accused filed false complaints against usthrough their partners with a motive to put pressure on us for compromising.They are deliberately pressurizing us to not to make any complaints againstthem and the police authorities in the district are also not listening to ourgrievances, therefore, we fear that they might take any illegal action against,therefore, it is requested to transfer the case and take appropriate actionagainst the accused. We also want the case to be enquired by some other higherauthorities other than Jalandhar City police" said Rashpal Singh Sachdeva,in his appeal to state police department.
“They are not taking any action against the accusedpersons on our complaint, rather they are favouring them in the Policeenquiries and have been pressurizing the applicants to get those complaintswithdrawn and also to implicate us in false criminal matters”, he added.
TheCase
In the month of August 2018, Charanpreet Singh Dalli from Neuvo Hospitality Pvt. Ltd duped theapplicant and his partners namely Mahakpreet Singh and Jaswinder Singh toinvest in the business of Restaurants and Hospitality and they promised thatthey would execute the legal document that the letter of Intent, InvestmentAgreement and represented that the said amount invested by the applicant willutilized for extending the business and they would give huge profits which wouldlater be distributed among the investors by way of an investment agreement.
As per the investment agreement an amount of Rs1.20cr,was invested by the complainants by way of transfers in the bank accounts andRs 80 Lakhs towards an immovable plot and the accused persons agreed that theywould return 12% p.a interest and 6% of the total sale. They agreed to returnthe same in the month of November 2018 onwards.
Subsequently, the amount of Rs 1.04 crore was again investedby the applicants in their business with the same assurances made by them thatthe huge profits would be delivered to them. In total they had taken an amountof Rs 3.4cr through investments and out of the said amount Rs 1.68 lakhs wasreturned in different installments deposited in the bank account and remainingamount wasn't not been paid till date.
