When humans intrude into wildlife habitat it is quite obvious that the predators will attack and even kill them. However, it becomes a matter of concern when a similar kind incident takes place with a week. In a fresh incident, an 18-year-olf girl was mauled to death by a tiger near Pench Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh.
The incident took place when the girl went to collect mahua flowers. Forest officials believe that the tiger is mistaking the crouching mahua collectors as four-legged prey. Like the other two incidents, the victim was not eaten by the big cat. This is the third incident of tiger till in a week.
As per reports, the victim has been identified as Santoshi Balchand. The girl was collecting flowers at Theupani area in Pench when the tiger grabbed her neck leading to her death on the spot.
Last Wednesday, a tigress killed a girl in the buffer zone. Later, the tigress was tranquilized and captured by Pench Reserve officials.
After some days, a woman was also killed by the tigress in the Khitoli area of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. Forest officials say they have repeatedly warned the villagers not to g near the buffer zone to collect the flowers.
On April 8, villagers burned the vehicle of a forest ranger alleging they took no measure after a tigress, which had killed a teenage girl, also attacked a boy in the area.
