No time limit, unlimited booze: Himachal Pradesh govt's New Year Offer for tourists

The Himachal Pradesh Government notified that the state Police will not harass tourists and people celebrating New Year in the state.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday announced unique New Year offers in a bid to attract tourists to the state. The Himachal Pradesh Government notified that the state Police will not harass tourists and people celebrating New Year in the state. Himachal Pradesh which is famous for 'White Christmas' and 'White New Year' will be serving unlimited booze to tourists and they can party 24*7 in the state. Not only this, if a tourist gets too high on alcohol then the Himachal Pradesh Police will take them to the hotels where they are staying so that they can safely celebrate New Year 2024. 

 

Addressing the media on Tuesday, Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said, "We want to promote tourism in the state. We have opened eating joints, Dhaba, and restaurants that will function 24 hours a day, starting from December 20 to January 5. So that the tourists do not face any problems."

 

"The police will send drunken tourists back to hotels rather than jails. I urge all the tourists to follow rules and regulations," added CM Sukhu. Not only this, CM Sukhu said that there would be no time limitation. Even the 'Paan shop' can remain open 24*7. Sukhu added that the Himachal Pradesh Police will not intervene or harass the tourists who are in the state to celebrate New Year. 

 

It is pertinent to mention here that Himachal Pradesh has been witnessing a mercuric rise in the number of tourists visiting the state, especially Manali and Shimla. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu during his address also informed that around 30,000 tourists entered the state on Monday. "Over 30000 thousand tourist vehicles have entered the state today," the CM said and added that the state government has made special efforts to take care of the tourists.
