Tinder girl levels rape charges against man after he refuses to give Rs 1000; Chats go viral

A man had to face fake rape charges and his phone number was leaked online by a girl he came to know through dating app Tinder.

With the advent of Christmas 2023 and New Year holidays, people around the world look to celebrate it either with their family, friends, or their partners. However, some people remain alone away from their family due to their work or any other reason. As a result, singles and lonely people opt for online dating apps and try their luck to find the love of their lives. Tinder is among the most used online dating apps in India. However, in the past few months, multiple reports have come in where people have complained that they have been blackmailed, faced fake allegations, and even at times sextorted due to the platform. Meaning, there is a mercuric rise of scamsters on online dating platform Tinder. Recently, a man had to face fake rape charges and his phone number was leaked online by a girl he connected through Tinder

 

A journalist on Monday took to her official X handle and shared their WhatsApp chats asking Tinder India 'what's going on?' Going by Tinder girl chats, it can be said that a man connected to her on the dating platform and exchanged his number. On WhatsApp, the woman whose alleged name is Sakshi Singh asked the man to give her Rs 1000. The man however refused to give her. However, the girl stated that she will return the money. 

 

Sensing something suspicious, the man named Praveen asked her to share her Id Card just for confirmation. Enraged by this, the girl then shared the screenshot of her Facebook post in which she leaked Praveen's number and even accused him of rape. 

 

Netizens demand legal action against Tinder Girl

 

A user wrote, "That guy should file a police complaint ."

 

Another user wrote, "Seems more of a cat fish tryna extort money. Tinder your app is an extortion enabler. Look into it."

 

One more user wrote, "Tinder and @happnindia il big frauds Both have many fake Accounts and they do it for money. They should have a eKYC small atleast ask aadhar card and selfie real time to confirm that account is real so police can take actions when there's need. Please raise your voice."

 

"This is for sure not a girl , its boy behind girls profile , happened to me also 5 yrs before , this type thing are very common," wrote another user.
