Some key points in TMC MP Mahua Moitra’s speech who fiercely criticized BJP

The All India Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra made her maiden speech in Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament. She took over the Internet with a storm with her words, in her fiery speech she pointed towards the facade of the current government and the loopholes in the deceptive and pseudo-nationalist policies of the past. Her speech made her an International celebrity, with her video is floating on the internet.

She spoke of issues like religious freedom, mob lynching, and media ethics and the politics of dissent, Moitra brought to light the fact that the 'overwhelmingness' of the public demanded a stronger voice of dissent to be heard today. 

"...you are missing the signs of fascism," Moitra said, "Only if you open your eyes, you will see there are signs everywhere that this country is being torn apart." She made quite bold statements and attacked the ruling party's ideology is based on "superficial, xenophobic, and narrow hyper-nationalism"
She listed these seven "danger signs of early fascism. Her 10-minute speech was laced with facts and figures.

•She in her speech she used the example of anti-immigration laws like the National Register of Citizens (NRC) policy, which according to her were being advocated by the Modi government to target a specific community.
"People who have lived in this country for 50 years have to show a piece of paper to show that they are Indians," the MP from Bengal said. 
In a searing taunt highlighting the irony of the country's situation, she asked rhetorically, "In a country where ministers cannot produce degrees to prove that they graduated from college, you expect dispossessed people to show papers, to show that they belong to this country?” 

•She also addressed about the mob lynching cases of Pehlu khan and recent case of Tabrez Ansari and said “the list is not stopping” referring to which she explained to the 10 fold increase in hate crimes across the nation between 2014 and 2019

•She then pointed towards the control of the ruling party over the media and the spread of fake news. She heavily criticized the government for turning the media houses "broadcasters of propaganda” for themselves. In a critical attack against the saffron party, Moitra called the doctrine dictating the BJP's campaign as the "Goebbels Doctrine" (referring to the propaganda doctrine charted by German politician Joseph Goebbels for the Nazi party in Germany). She said that the elections were not fought on burning issues like employment and farmers' demands, but on some "lies" circulated on WhatsApp.

•The intertwining of religion and politics goes without saying. ” Do I even need to speak about this? Need I remind you that we have redefined what it means to be a citizen?" she demanded, saying laws had been amended to target Muslims.”

•She also mentioned about government obsession with national security and how the atmosphere is sensed and new enmities are arising

•She also spoke of the disdain of Independence of art and intellectuals.

•The AITMC MP in the last spoke about erosion of the independence of election commission and the electoral system

Ms. Moitra was a former Investment Banker with JP Morgan in London who quit her job in 2009 to return to join politics
After her speech, she directly aimed The Prime Minister about the Airstrike and the BJP of trying to divide Hindus and Muslims. She said elections in the past were to change the government, but this election was to save the constitution of India.

"We are in the opposition, so we have to bring up the issues. We have to speak up and we have to point it out. We will speak up on whatever issues there are," Ms. Moitra
"The opposition's job is to highlight the failings of the government and highlight issues that are not being dealt with by the treasury benches. That is my job and I will do that to the best of my ability.”MS Moitra
