Tourist Resorts of Himachal once again under white snow blankets

Shimla: Prominent Tourist Resort of Himachal Pradesh including Shimla, Manali Dalhousie, Kufri, Narkanda, Chail, Mashobra and Kalpa were covered under white snow blankets once again bringing cheers on the face of those associated with the hospitality industry and farmers in the state.

As the people came out of their homes in the morning they found their surroundings under a thick blanket of white sheet after overnight unpleasantly cold weather and snowing.

Tourist resort Dalhousie got 30 cm snowfall, Manali 23 cm, Narkanda 10 cm,  Keylong nine cm, Kalpa in Kinnuar,  Kufri eight cm, Shimla and Mashobra 3.5 cm each, Chail in Solan and Saluni in Chamba 2.5 cm.

Vehicular traffic was disrupted on Hindustan-Tibet National Highway between Shimla and Narkanda and between Shimla and Rohru and Chopal after mounting of snow on the road. Vehicular traffic was 
diverted via Basantpur to Rampur and Kinnuar district.Many buses services had to be suspended following mounting of snow in the high line areas of Shimla district. 

However, the fresh snowfall brought cheers on the faces of farmers, hoteliers and apple growers who were awaiting this for the last two weeks.

Downstream areas also recorded light to moderate rainfall, Seobagh and Bhuntar in Kullu had 25 and 21mm rain, Sundernagar in Mandi 10.8 mm, Palampur and Dharmshala in Kangar  seven mm each, 

Inclement weather condition is expected to continue in the state as the entire state is under the grip of coldwave however; barring some snow covered roads which are affecting road communication other services are normal in the state. The Met office forecast rain or snowfall in many parts of the state in the next 24 hrs.
