In an incident that raised security concerns, a 'toy' drone landed on the premises of the Central Jail in Amritsar early Monday. The Police recovered the drone while the Paramilitary forces and all the staff of Central Jail were put on high alert and they launched an immediate search operation.
The whole area was put under high alert as it was suspected that it was a terrorist attack. At around 2 a.m. the Police were immediately put on high alert due to the previous attacks on Amritsar jail. All the entry and exit points of the jail were immediately sealed. It has been reported that the army personals were trying to catch the drone when it crashed and landed in jail. The Police investigation suspected it to be a toy drone. According to the investigation, it was an accident as the drone went out of control and fell in Amritsar's Central Jail alerting everyone. Drones have a set limit and cannot operate after reaching the specific limit.

The team continued the investigation and found that the toy belonged to two children. While playing with the drone, they accidentally dropped it in the Central jail. To ensure the safety of the state, the Police took immediate action and detained the children’s father for questioning. It is likely that a case will be registered against the father.
The CRPF and the Police are still investigating the incident. The details of the incident are limited as both the Police as well as the Jail Authorities are silent. The investigation is still ongoing but the Police is making sure to ensure the integrity and prevent from any unnecessary panic as well as hue and cry in the state.
