Brahm Singh of Jarkhar village alleges that no officer has come to search for the leopard till evening. People from nearby villages are themselves keeping guard.

Gurudwara Sahib's servant, Manjeet Singh, said that the people of the village have been alerted. Children and older adults in the village have been asked to stay home. The village residents demanded that the administration search the area and catch the leopard soon.

It first appeared around the Centra Green Flats

The leopard was first seen in Centra Green Flats. After this, the forest department team sealed the entire area and started the search. After this, on the second day, leopard claw marks were found in Dev Colony, village Khedi Jhamedi.

People of the villages on Pakkhowal Road have been instructed not to leave their houses alone in the morning and night until the leopard is caught. Currently, the Forest Department is conducting searches at different places about 5 kilometers from Central Green.

DFSC said people should be prevented from sharing the wrong videos

DFSC Narinder Singh of the Forest Department said that some people are making viral videos of different animals in the city looking like leopards. Sometimes, they tell the location of the video as Phullanwal Chowk and sometimes as Sahnewal, but all these are rumors. The animal seen in those videos is not a leopard. People should avoid sharing the wrong videos.

Considering it as their moral responsibility, people should not make wrong videos viral. Leopard claw marks have been found on wet soil in Dev Colony and village Khedi Jhamedi. The forest department team has also reached there, and the leopard will be caught soon.

Singh said that till now, no traces of leopard have been found beyond village Khedi Jhamedi. It is certain that now the leopard is on the city's outskirts. It journeys during the night, and they hope to catch him soon.

People kept vigil throughout the night.

People have kept vigilant in many localities around Pakhowal Road. The youth of the locality are keeping guard at night. The youths are keeping guards armed with sticks. However, they, too, did not see the leopard anywhere.

Wild animals are coming to the city through canals. Forest officers said most wild animals come to the cities through canals when winter increases in the mountains. It is feared that the leopard has reached Pakkhowal Road through Doraha Canal.
