Sources told India Today that eighteen Delhi Police officers after suffering injuries in today’s tractor parade have been admitted to the LNJP Hospital in Delhi while one amongst the injured cops is critical.

To maintain the security of the national capital and restore law and order, the Union Home Ministry has directed to deploy 15 paramilitary forces in Delhi after a meeting of senior officials chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday evening.

"Additional companies of paramilitary forces are likely to be deployed in Delhi. These would be over and above 15 companies that were sent yesterday. Five companies were on standby today," said sources.

Meanwhile, the police have removed protestors who had seized the Red Fort after they deviated from their planned route on which the tractor parade was meant to be carried and also requested the protesting farmers to take the permitted route while returning back to the protest borders.

Earlier today, the farmers had deviated from the designated route for the proposed Republic Day tractor parade as a sign of intensifying their agitation against the new farm laws and moved toward ITO in central Delhi.

The Delhi Police had permitted the protesting farmers to hold their tractor parade on selected routes only after the official Republic Day parade on the Rajpath concludes.
