On Saturday, traffic movement upwards from the Himachal Pradesh capital remained suspended for the fifth day since a large stretch of the highway was still under a thick blanket of snow, informed the officials.
The entire Kinnaur district remained cut off, informed a government official. He said heavy spells of snow on Friday has hampered the snow clearing operations.
Additional Chief Secretary Manish Nanda said that the government is focusing on restoring the electricity, water supply and roads at the earliest.
