In response to the Directives from TRAI, Jio and Airtel have launched new plans that offer voice calls and SMS service with no data pack. These plans will benefit people who do not require data because earlier people had to pay the full amount.

Jio has announced a new plan for its consumers that includes only voice calls and text messages. Moreover, the company has dropped the price of one of its existing plans. The decision came after Airtel reduced the prices of its voice and SMS plans. The price drop was made in response to complaints from mobile users in India.

Jio's Rs 1,748 Recharge Plan

Primarily, Jio introduced a Rs 1958 plan, which offered unlimited calling and 3600 SMS for an entire year. However, following TRAI's directives JIO has launched a new plan, priced at Rs 1748. This updated plan has a validity of 336 days but still includes 3600 SMS and unlimited calling.

Jio has also dropped the price of the new plan from Rs 458 to 448. This plan offers unlimited voice calls along with 1000 SMS.

Airtel has also followed the Price Cut

The company has recently introduced a plan for 84 days, which costs Rs 499, but now it costs only 469 Rs. Another plan for 365 days plan is deducted from Rs 1959 to Rs 1849.

TRAI had notified that this would give consumers an option to pay for the services they require in general and, in particular, benefit certain segments of consumers, especially elderly persons, those living in rural areas and feature phone users. It has also been added that the reserving of denomination of Rs 10 and multiple thereof only for top-up vouchers be done away with and TSP may be allowed to offer all the vouchers in any denomination of their choice while retaining the mandate of at least one top up voucher of denomination of Rs 10. The decision also stated that the colour coding of vouchers, as it exists in the physical form, can be done away with, given the prominence of online recharge.

The change came after the growing consumer demand for reasonable options.
