The original version is really a popular Dutch series named 'De Verraders' that was remade in American and British versions following its success.
The Dutch Show is authentic murderous mutiny on a 17th Century Dutch Vessel, where the program contestants were voted out and hurled into the sea. "Jasper Hoogendoorn and Marc Pos" are the creators of the original as well as the international versions based on the original "De Verraders."
'The Traitors-India'
Karan Johar's new reality show, as indicated by the name, has taken cues from Western formats of the show.
Even though it is an Indian adaptation of a hugely popular show around the world, viewers are hailing it as 'authentic' and 'unique' because of its eccentric celebrity line-up, raw drama, and raw emotions.
