True Scoop hosts ‘Digital News’ workshop at CT Institute, Jalandhar

A workshop was organized on Fact-Checking Information and News through various means at CT Institute Jalandhar. More than 200 students from various fields attended the workshop and got to learn about the meaning of misinformation, fact-checking ways and about different tools offered by Google.

Mr. Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions applauded the team of True Scoop for the work that it has been doing. He also appreciated the vision and aim towards which True Scoop is working.

True Scoop aims to fight against malicious motives of spreading misinformed news. It has been used to influence politics and promote advertising and now has also become a method to stir up and intensify social conflict.

TrueScoop through a workshop hosted by its anchors, Ms. Guneet and Mr. Mayank made an effort to inform and make students aware of how to tackle the problem of misinformed news. Editor-in-chief, Mr. Rakesh Behal was also present during the same.

Khyati Kohli, Managing Director of True Scoop, addressed the workshop and enlightened the audience on why True Scoop came into existence and how it is different from the other players in the market. She informed the students about various unique concepts of TrueScoop like Inception Tales, Spill The Scoop, etc. She added that True Scoop features on World’s largest news aggregators such as Google News, Jio News, and Daily hunt. “Our motivation is to bring about socio-economic change in society. Our endeavors in action-oriented journalism reflect that well,” she added further.

This digital news workshop is one of a kind. It is a well-intentioned endeavor to direct the future of Punjab in the right direction by teaching them how to fight misinformation and fact-check their news. Students thoroughly enjoyed the interactive session organized by True Scoop.
