US President Donald Trump praises Pakistan on his first-day of India visit, Pakistan media focuses on his 'good relations' remark

On Monday, after US President Donald Trump landed in India he went to Motera stadium to address the people gathered for mega event-Namastey Trump in Gujarat. During his address, Trump said USA has good relations with Pakistan and Pakistani media outlets emphasized on how the remark was being said.

One of the leading English dialies of Pakistan, same evening of the address, carried a frontpage headline "Trump praises Pakistan in India." The report further says, ".....Trump arrived in India to a rousing welcome on Monday and soon attended down to praising the country's 'secular heritage'....". The report also quoted Trump as saying, "Our relationship with Pakistan is a very good one and thanks to these efforts, we are begining to see signs of big progress with Pakistan."

Pakistan's most websites of all major English dailies ran the headline on the lines that Trump in Ahmedabad said the 'US has a very good relationship with Pakistan.'

Another media house carried the headline: "Trump tells India ties with Pakistan are very good."

"US President Donald Trump on Monday announced to the shock of over 100,000 people packed into the world's largest Motera Cricket Stadium in Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state that his administration had very good ties with Pakistan," quoted the report.

On Monday, to attend 'Namaste Trump' event at Motera stadium, around 1,00,000 people had gathered. US President Trump in his address said both the US and India had been hurt by Islamist terrorism and are united in defending citizens from its threat.

"Our borders will always be closed to terrorists and extremists. Anyone who threatens our security, will pay a big price," said Trump amid a loud cheer.

Trump, however, also indicated that the US was keen on taking Pakistan along for the sake of security. "For this reason, my administration is working positively with Pakistan. Our relationship with Pakistan is a good one. There are big signs of progress in ensuring greater stability and peace of all the nations in South Asia," he said.

Pakistan press on Monday highlighted that Trump in his maiden speech in India said that the US shares good relations with Pakistan.
