The timeline for the launch of Twitter Blue’s subscription in India finally has been revealed. This came through Twitter’s sole director Elon Musk’s response to a question from the user through his official Twitter handle.

In his response Musk said that the company has been planning to roll out the subscription to Twitter Blue within a month. By far the exclusive Twitter Blue model is restricted to four countries the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand for which the users had to pay $4.99 a month. However, with new features, this exclusive plan will be released in different countries as well.

Last week, Elon Musk revealed that from now only Twitter Blue users will receive the verified Twitter sign on their accounts. Moreover, Musk informed that the users will get 3 months grace period to switch to the subscription-based structure of the company, he went on to inform that those who don’t take the company’s exclusive subscription the verified sign from their account will be removed.

The latest subscription to Twitter Blue will seek $7.99 in America. The iOS users have started receiving features in the latest update. However, the price in India has not been revealed yet, although as per Musk’s announcement the price for this new feature will be based on Purchasing Power of that country, the users in India will need to cough up Rs. 200 per month to avail of the services.

The paid Twitter users will get the following benefits:

• Will get priority in reply.

• Priority will be given in the Mention.

• Priority will be given in search.

• Can post long videos and audio.

• Half the ads will be seen compared to normal users.

• Apart from these, this feature will help to curb spam. Blue Tick subscribers can also read paid articles for free if publishers have a contract with Twitter.

1. How do the users receive a Blue Tick? 

No fees are charged now. Users are given a blue tick after the company's prescribed process. Any user whose profile is ticked on it means that the account is verified.

2. What will change from now?

For Blue Tick on Twitter, the user has to take a subscription. However, the date when the paid service will be implemented is not yet decided.

3. Will the fees be equal in every country?

Elon Musk said that fees can vary from country to country. The fee will depend on the purchasing power and capacity of that country. How much it will be in India, there is no official information yet.

4. What will be the status of accounts for celebrities?

Those who are public figures, viz celebrities like politicians and actors will get a secondary tag on the profile. This secondary tag is currently available only in some countries. It can be seen on the Twitter account of US President Joe Biden, right below his name the United States Government Official is mentioned. Currently, this tag is not available in India.

Currently, the label is available only in China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Belarus, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Cuba, Ecuador, Egypt, Honduras, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Arab Emirates.
