
A delegation of United Cycle and PartsManufacturers Association called on MP from Sri Anandpur Sahib Manish Tewari athis residence and handed over a memorandum regarding the demands of theindustries. Chairman of Punjab Large Industrial Development Board Pawan Dewanwere also present on the occasion.
The memorandum outlines the challenges being faced by the MSMEsector. According to the delegation, a recent survey has revealed that ason March 31, 2019, there were around one lakh MSME industries in Ludhiana andthese industries had a credit of Rs. 24.50 lakh. As a result, MSME units havecome down to 90,000, while credit has increased to around Rs 37 lakh.
In thisregard, they emphasized the need to sensitize the MSME industry to seek clearancefrom PSPCL and urged PSPCL to extend the PIL till March 31, 2022 by waiving theamount of this penalty. Similarly two part tariff should be replaced withsingle tariff and inclusive of all expenses and taxes should be Rs. 5 per unit.They also demanded formation of steel regulatory authority to controlspeculation in steel prices.
MP Tewari listened attentively to the issues raised bythe industry representatives and assured to take up with state and centralgovernment.
