The Russia-Ukraine war has entered its 13th day and all the peace talks between the two countries have yielded no breakthrough. With no breakthrough in peace talks, Russia has gone offensive in order to capture Kyiv and ultimately demilitarise Ukraine. However, Russia has been facing strong opposition from Ukraine and diplomatic pressure from the western countries especially USA and UK. Amidst all such chaos, a heartwarming video of a Ukrainian army proposing his girlfriend has gone viral on social media.
In the video which is getting viral, netizens can see the Ukrainian army stopped a sedan at a checkpoint and started frisking the passengers with their heads towards the car. At first, netizens might think that the Ukrainian army is frisking and questioning the common civilians, therefore might get angry. However, the video soon changes their perception as frisking soon turns into a surprise marriage proposal.
As the Ukrainian army personnel were frisking everyone, the camera angle changes and it can be seen that the personnel removed his mask and went to his knees to propose to his girlfriend. As soon as the girl turns during the checking, she saw her boyfriend on his knee proposing to her with a ring. The girl then turned emotional on the surprise proposal. Soon, the Ukrainian army personnel stands up and put the ring in his girlfriend's finger. Then, they both share an adorable kiss.
The video was shared by European Union Media Nexta TV on its Twitter handle on March 7 and since then the video has garnered 1 million views with people reacting to the Ukrainian army personnel's heartwarming proposal video.

Notably, this is the second video which has gone viral of the Ukrainian army personnel expressing his love to his loved one. Earlier, In a video shared by Kyiv Mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko, an army personnel could be seen officiating Lesya and Valeria’s marriage after which they were showered with flower petals among cheers by people around. Klitschko in his tweet wrote that Lesya and Valeria had been in a civil marriage before they got married.
Top Russian general killed in fighting near Kharkiv
Coming back to the ongoing conflict, Ukrainian defence authorities have said that a top Russian general was killed during fighting near the country's second-largest city of Kharkiv. In a statement on Monday night, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine identified the slain general as Vitaly Gerasimov, who was a major general, chief of staff, and first deputy commander of the 41st Army of the Central Military District of Russia. According to the statement, Gerasimov took part in the Second Chechen War which took place from August 1999 to April 2000, and the Russian military operation in Syria.
