Comedian & Oscars 2024 host Jimmy Kimmel almost pulled out a perfect opening act at the prestigious event until he cracked a joke on the ace actor Robert Downey Jr. After cracking jokes on all the nominees, Kimmel shifted his focus on Oppenheimer and its Best Supporting Actor star, Robert Downey Jr. Jimmy Kimmel said about the first-time nominee, "This is one of the highest points of Robert’s long illustrious career- one of the highest,” motioning to his own nose. In response, Downey Jr. then pointed to his nose, seeming to be in on the joke as the audience nervously laughed.
Fans were left unimpressed by Kimmel's joke about Robert Downey Jr. as the actor has went through drug problems in the past. Reacting to it a user wrote, "Jimmy Kimmel… awkward Robert Downey Jr. “jokes”"
