Many people lost their jobs due to Covid.  Nowthose who have lost their jobs will get unemployment benefits till June 30,2022 with the help of government scheme. Employees State Insurance Corporation(ESIC) has extended Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana.

It is a scheme to provide 50 per centunemployment benefit to the insured persons for 3 months who lose their job fordue to Covid 19 pandemic.

Under the 'Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana',unemployment benefits are given to the unemployed on the loss of theirjobs. An unemployed person can avail this allowance for 3 months. Hecan claim 50% of the average salary for 3 months. 30 days after beingunemployed, Claims can be made by joining this scheme.

Who can avail the scheme?

·      Employeescovered under Section 2(9) of the ESI Act 1948.

·      TheInsured Person (IP) should have been rendered unemployed during the period therelief is claimed.

·      TheInsured Person should have been in insurable employment for a minimum period oftwo years.

·      TheInsured Person should have contributed not less than 78 days during each of thepreceding four contribution periods.

·      Thecontribution in respect of him should have been paid or payable by theemployer.

·    Thecontingency of the unemployment should not have been as a result of anypunishment for misconduct or superannuation or voluntary retirement.

·      Aadharand Bank Account of the Insured Person should be linked with insured persondatabase.

How to register for the scheme?

·      Totake advantage of the scheme, you must first download the form of Atal BimitVyakti Kalyan Yojana for the ESIC website. Fill the form and submit it to thenearest ESIC 3.

·      Formmust be accompanied by notary’s affidavit with a judicial stamp on it.

Note: No benefit will be given in case youlost your job due to any other reason thencovid.
