Unemployment allowance: Govt to give 50% salary to unemployed, Know how to avail the benefits

Many people lost their jobs due to Covid.  Now those who have lost their jobs will get unemployment benefits till June 30, 2022 with the help of government scheme. Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has extended Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana.

 

It is a scheme to provide 50 per cent unemployment benefit to the insured persons for 3 months who lose their job for due to Covid 19 pandemic.

 

Under the 'Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana', unemployment benefits are given to the unemployed on the loss of their jobs. An unemployed person can avail this allowance for 3 months. He can claim 50% of the average salary for 3 months. 30 days after being unemployed, Claims can be made by joining this scheme.

 

Who can avail the scheme?

 

·       Employees covered under Section 2(9) of the ESI Act 1948.

 

·       The Insured Person (IP) should have been rendered unemployed during the period the relief is claimed.

 

·       The Insured Person should have been in insurable employment for a minimum period of two years.

 

·       The Insured Person should have contributed not less than 78 days during each of the preceding four contribution periods.

 

·       The contribution in respect of him should have been paid or payable by the employer.

 

·    The contingency of the unemployment should not have been as a result of any punishment for misconduct or superannuation or voluntary retirement.

 

·       Aadhar and Bank Account of the Insured Person should be linked with insured person database.

How to register for the scheme?

 

·       To take advantage of the scheme, you must first download the form of Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana for the ESIC website. Fill the form and submit it to the nearest ESIC 3.

 

·       Form must be accompanied by notary’s affidavit with a judicial stamp on it.

 

Note: No benefit will be given in case you lost your job due to any other reason then covid.
