Unnao Rape Case: SC directed this regulation to media before hearing starts from Monday

New Delhi: Supreme Court on Friday took note of the fact that there was a hesitation on part of the family members of the injured Unnao rape victim as well as her lawyer for shifting them from Lucknow to Delhi's hospital for better treatment.

A bench of the top court, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI), Ranjan Gogoi, posted the matter for further hearing and consideration till Monday, 5 August.

Meanwhile, the apex court ordered shifting the victim's uncle from Rae Bareli Jail to Tihar Jail here.

The court directed the media, both print and electronic, to refrain from disclosing the identity of Unnao victim in any form. 

The Uttar Pradesh Government told the SC that it has deposited Rs 25 lakh in the bank account of the victim's mother on Thursday complying with the apex court order.
