In a shameful incident of honour killing, a 24-year-old man named Riyaz beheaded his own sister for allegedly eloping with her boyfriend who was from the same community. What made the killing even more inhuman is when the man roamed freely on the road with her sister's severed head and knife in his other hand. The incident took place in a village of Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki district. Notably, Barabanki honour killing incident came at a time when entire India is fuming over the Manipur viral video case and even the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has strictly advised the Chief Ministers of all states to protect women against heinous or any kinds of crimes. Now, a video is spreading like a wildfire on social media in which Riyaz was seen roaming freely on the road without any regrets with the severed head of her own sister. The shocking video has media the netizens and people of India even more angry when it comes to crime against women.
Barabanki ASP Ashutosh Mishra in his address informed, “A man named Riyaz, aged 24 years, has beheaded his sister in the Mithwara village in Fatehpur police station area. The girl had earlier eloped with a man from their own community from the same village. The family was against the affair and had filed a police case in the matter. Riyaz was displeased with his sister over the incident. Upon information, police reached Mithwara village immediately. Riyaz has been arrested and a case of murder has been lodged against him. An investigation is on.”
