Tanu Tomar, daughter of a farmer based in Baraut, a town in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh has transpired as the topper in the class 12 examination of Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP). The blooming bud surpassed over 29 lakh candidates who had registered for the UP Board 12th exams 2019 as well as broke last three years’ record. Tanu secured 97.8% marks and also exclaimed that her teacher had already predicted that she will top the board.

Running through the pages of history, we know Akash Maurya and Priyanshi Tiwari who had topped 2018 and 2017 board exams respectively scoring 93.20 per and 96.20 per cent marks. The girl has been consistently well in her studies and is definitely quite happy with her performance. It is rightly said that quitters never win and Tanu proves to be the breathing example of the same. The overall result of 12 class board has fallen by 2 percent. Girl power comes to limelight as the first three positions are secured by girls. The second rank holder Bhagyashree has obtained 97.2% marks followed by the third rank holder Akanksha with 94.80% marks.

The apex positions in the 10 class UP board result are secured by Gautam Raghuvanshi with 97.17% marks followed by Shivam securing second spot with 97% marks and Tanuja Vishwakarma securing the third position with 96.83%. An allover rise of 4.91 per cent in pass percentage of candidates in class 10 is seen as compared to the last year.
District wise viewing, Muzaffarnagar has secured the top position with 91.8 per cent., Shamil secured the second position, while Lucknow clinched the third spot. There is no ray of hope for students failing in one that one subject but for the others there is an option to reappear for the compartment exams.
