UP Police's quirky, witty tweets focus on 'importance of consent, rash driving', takes cues from cinema

Gen-Z is more tech savvy and consumes content on social networking or micro-blogging sites such as Twitter and Facebook. Time and again, official accounts of various departments use witty and quirky stuff to gain attention. One among them is Twitter account of police of Uttar Pradesh.

The police take inspiration from cinema, movies Darr and Pink specifically and created a clip by clipping some scenes out of both the movies to make people understand the meaning of consent.

In a tweet the UP Police writes, "Kiran ki na ka Matlab?" (What is the meaning of Kiran's NO?) In a video, the answer is 'No means No.'

Darr was a movie starring Juhi Chawla and Shahrukh Khan. It was released in 1993. Similarly, Pink is a movie starring Tapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan, released in 2016, that popularized the idea of consent.

Similarly, in one of the another tweets, the UP Police have used a prominent and popular meme of Bernie Sanders to send  a message, "Stop being casual." In a tweet, the handler added, "Report crime against women at 112, 1090."
