Till now the makers have not shared the official announcement of 'Ramayana'. If media reports are to be believed, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are playing lead roles in this film. Recently, a photo also went viral on social media in which both of them were seen shooting for the film.

Ever since Adipurush's box office disaster last year, the public has been keeping an eye on this Ramayana due to Ranbir Kapoor being in the lead role. It is clear from all the reports related to the film so far that the makers do not want to leave any stone unturned in adapting the story of Ramayana into a film. In anticipation of this, fans’ excitement has skyrocketed through the roof.

'Ramayana' is the most expensive film till date

According to a report, sources related to the film have confirmed that the makers have allocated a huge budget of 100 million dollars i.e. approximately Rs 835 crore for 'Ramayana: Part One'. Quoting a source, the report said, 'Ramayana is not just a film and the makers do not want to leave any stone unturned to make it a global spectacle.' It was reported that producer Namit Malhotra, who is also the CEO of DNEG, a company that has worked on VFX and special effects in Oscar-winning films, is using his entire global experience to make 'Ramayana' a successful project.

A film with a higher budget than 'Brahmastra'

Ranbir Kapoor's film 'Brahmastra Part One: Shiva', made with a budget of Rs 400 crore, is one of the most expensive Bollywood films of all time. However, in an interview, Ranbir had said that this 400 crore budget is not just for the first film, but for the entire 'Brahmastra' trilogy. That is, according to this, the budget of 'Ramayana' is more than double that of 'Brahmastra' project. According to the reported budget, 'Adipurush' based on Ramayana is considered to be the most expensive film of Indian cinema.

After the first trailer, the budget of reworking the film and releasing it was estimated be around Rs 600 crore. The budget of Oscar winning film 'RRR' was said to be around Rs 550 crore. In such a situation, with a budget of Rs 835 crore, 'Ramayana' is going to set a record of being the most expensive film in Indian cinema, a record which is set to stand for quite a long time.
