The reported arrest of former Canadian diplomat in China has troubled the United State.It has urged Americans to exercise caution when traveling to the country because of the risk of "arbitrarily" detention, State Department deputy spokesperson Robert Palladino told the reporters in a press briefing.Earlier,Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed the arrest of former Canadian diplomat Michael Kovrig in China.

                 "The United States is concerned by these reports that the Canadian citizen has been detained in China," said Palladino on Tuesday. "We urge China to end all forms of arbitrary detention and to respect protections and freedom of all individuals under China's international human rights and consular commitments."

           On December 1, Canadian authorities arrested the chief financial officer of China's Huawei Technologies, Meng Wanzhou, on United States’ request. Meng was detained in Vancouver for failing to comply with US sanctions against Iran.The Chinese Foreign Ministry made a called to Ottawa demanding immediate release of Meng. Huawei, as well said that it was unaware of any wrongdoing on the part of its chief financial officer

       Monday was the second day of Meng's bail hearing in a Canadian court.During the hearing her lawyers argued that she needs to be released before extradition due to her poor health and strong ties with the city of Vancouver.

     A decision has not been made yet, and the hearing is to continue on Tuesday as well.
