US President elect Joe Biden after denouncing thestorming of the Capitol termed it "one of the darkest day in the historyof our nation." Similarly, Vice President Mike Pence also termed it"dark day in the history of US Capitol" and later added that violencenever wins. As the incident received criticisms from leaders across the globe, the House Speaker, Nancy Pelosy said she would move forward with impeachment ifPresident Donald Trump didn't resign.

Trump has been accused of inciting his followers that ledto the Capitol attacks. The House of Democrats are going to introduce a 'chargeof insurrection'. In the attacks, five people have died. Pelosy warns that Trumpis a threat to democracy in America.

Biden said that impeachment is for Congress to decide buthe believed, "President Trump was not fit to hold the job." Lawmakersare skeptical of Trump if he stays in the office. However, after the attacks onthe Capitol, Trump had been isolated and receiving and lot of flak.

Pelosi in a letter to her colleagues added, "We willact with urgency, because this President represents an imminent threat."Full house vote is expected on Tuesday after Pelosi's leadership team brings avote on the resolution calling on Vice President Pence to invoke 25thamendment.

Dismissing the impeachment as "politicallymotivated" the White House stated it would "further divide our greatcountry." If the impeachment proceeds, it will be the second attempt toimpeach Trump from office. He was earlier impeached by the lower house on thecharges of 'abuse of power' and 'obstruction of Congress' in December 2019.Trump was later on acquitted by the Senate in February 2020.

However, it is still obscure if enough members of thePresident's party will agree to impeach him. Successful impeachment attemptwill bar the president from the benefits enjoyed by the presidents afterretirement. He might be banned from standing in the elections by the Senate.

Pelosi on Friday called Trump "unhinged" andsaid Congress must do everything possible to protect Americans while he holdoffice. Impeachment is a rare event that is now going to be used against Trumpagain.
