The Jamaican sprint legend and one of the most decorated Olympians of all time, Usain Bolt has lost millions of dollars that he had in his account with a Kingston-based investment firm.

Lawyers who are working on the matter of Usain Bolt informed the media that the sprinter has lost $12 million from his investment account and will take the matter to court if deemed necessary. After the alleged scam the sprinter is only left with $12,000 in the account.

Linton P. Gordon who is the lawyer taking care of the matter in conversation with a reputed magazine said, "The account was part of Bolt's retirement and lifetime savings."

He further added, "It's distressing news for anyone, and certainly in the case of Mr. Bolt, who established this account as part of his private pension,” saying he is ready to take the matter to the court if the company doesn’t comply in returning the funds back on time.

"It is a grave disappointment, and we are hoping that the matter will be resolved in a way that Mr. Bolt will recover his money and be able to live in peace."

The Kingston-based Stocks and Securities Ltd (SSL) said in a statement released back on January 12th that it had become aware of fraudulent activity by a former employee and has directed the matter to law enforcement. The firm has taken steps to secure all the assets that have gone into the misappropriation of its client’s funds.
