American singer and songwriter Usher headlined the Super Bowl 2024 half-time show on Sunday (USA time) and the entire stadium stood up on their feet. Usher was joined by multiple other singers and rappers including Ludacris and Alicia Keys. While Usher Super Bowl 2024 performance was electrifying in its own way, his hug to Alicia Keys grabbed many eyeballs. In order to bring out chemistry during the Super Bowl 2024 half-time show, Usher performed a romantic number with Alicia Keys (My Boo). During the performance, Usher hugged Alicia from behind and the moment went viral on social media.

Reacting to the Usher hugging Alicia video, a user wrote, "I know alicia got butterflies when usher hug her from behind"

Another user wrote, "I need somebody to hug me how usher hugged swizz beatz wife"

One more user wrote, "Usher gave her the Homecoming Hug in front of the whole world"

How much did Usher charge for Super Bowl 2024 performance?

The answer is Zero. As per Cosmopolitan, Usher is charging no money to perform at the Super Bowl LVIII half-time show. Usher will be giving a free 13-minute concert in the middle of a football game. As one NFL spokesperson put it to Forbes several years ago, "We do not pay the artists. We cover expenses and production costs." However, it is a well-known fact that stars who perform at the Super Bowl they get indirect benefits.

For instance, Spotify reported that pop star & actress Jennifer Lopez's streams spiked by 335 percent after the 2020 Super Bowl, while Shakira’s went up by 230 percent. Billboard reported the songs Shakira and J.Lo performed sold 16,000 digital downloads that day (up from ~1,000 the prior day). And hence, the indirect benefits surpass any kind of monetary benefit at the Super Bowl.
