White sheets of snow can be seen along the roads of Srinagar. The first snowfall of the season also occurred in many areas of Uttarakhand. It rained overnight in many areas. It rained overnight in Dehradun and Haridwar while heavy snowfall was seen in the higher reaches. Chamoli, Dhanaulti of Tehri district, Munsiyari of Pithoragarh, Chakrata of Dehradun district, Kapkot of Bageshwar district received heavy snowfall. IMD had predicted heavy snowfall in the higher reaches of Uttarakhand on January 31 and February 1. IMD has also predicted that due to re-activation of western disturbance, there may be normal average rainfall in the month of February.
