Newly inaugurated Vande Bharat Express, while returning back to New Delhi via Allahabad, broke down in the wee hours of Saturday near Tundla railway station.
"This appears to be a disruption due to possible cattle run over in the early hours while the Vande Bharat Express was returning from Varanasi towards New Delhi", official spokesperson of the Railways said. He also added, “This is not a scheduled commercial run. Commercial operations will start from Sunday, February 17.''
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal had told reporters on-board on Friday that 100 Train 18 aka Vande Bharat Express are scheduled in near future. The semi high speed train, a day after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off at New Delhi railway station on Friday, was returning from Varanasi.
