The internet is finding it difficult to control tears after a moving video of a Venezuelan refugee mother singing on the streets of Peru while cradling her child surfaced on the internet. The video was shared on Facebook by the official account of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency and has been shared widely across social media.
"A comforting melody you need to hear today," is what the caption of the post read. The 40-second clip features the woman standing in front of a mic on the street and singing a poignant melody - simultaneously cradling her newborn child. At one point, she stopped for a second and kissed her baby.
Also, a bowl is placed in front of her for pedestrians to drop spare change for her in it. She sings for two hours every day on the streets of Peru.
