Vicky Kaushal who has made a big impact on audiences with his films like Sardar Udham Singh and URI: The Surgical Strike, is all set to spread his charm all over again with upcoming movie named ‘Govinda Naam Mera.’ Filmmaker Karan Johal along with Vicky Kaushal announced OTT release of their first-ever project together on Wednesday.
Vicky Kaushal Karan Johal shares a fun-packed video on their respective social media handles giving an insight into story of film. Reportedly, Govinda Naam Mera will be exclusively releasing on Disney Plus Hotstar although date has not been revealed as for now.
The video shows Karan Johal pitching script of film Govinda Naam Mera to Vicky Kaushal. The actor looks unconvinced on knowing the story as life of main lead is a total mess and gives excuses to reject film. Video begins with Karan Johal praising Vicky Kaushal for his work but also taking a dig at all roles he has played on big screen till now. Later, Karan Johal suggests Vicky Kaushal to try doing something ‘massaledaar.’
Post this, Karan Johal pitches his script of Govinda Naam Mera saying that it is a story of person named Govinda who is a background dancer of background dancers. He has a lot of debt on him and his wife is also having an affair who beats him a lot. Only good thing that Govinda will experience is romancing his girlfriend in rains of Mumbai. Lastly in the video, Vicky Kaushal looks unconvinced about Karan Johar’s movies and makes excuses to avoid the film.
Movie also stars Bhumi Pednekar as Vicky’s wife and Kiara Advani as his girlfriend. The makers had earlier planned for the film to release in theaters on June 10, 2022.
