Vigilance submits charge sheet against Former Minister Dharamsot; alleged of taking bribe for postings, issuance of NOCs

Former Minister Dharamsot was arrested on June 7 along with his media advisor Kamaljeet Singh in a corruption case.

The Vigilance Bureau has submitted a charge sheet in court accusing Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, a former minister in Captain Amarinder's government, of accepting bribes in exchange for the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NoCs) for passages for hotels, filling stations on highways, and the posting of forest officials.

The charge-sheet from the Vigilance further stated that the minister's Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Chamkaur Singh, acted as a middleman and accepted bribes on his behalf in multiple incidents, including the posting of two DFOs in exchange for payments of Rs 15 lakh and Rs 12 lakh.

Former Minister Dharamsot was arrested on June 7 in a corruption case, along with his media advisor Kamaljeet Singh. He is still in jail.

42 of the 118 NOCs cleared during Dharamsot's tenure, according to the vigilance inquiry, and he sought a bribe of between Rs 15-20 lakh through a person named Parveen Kumar.
