Jet Airways Vijay Mallya Fugitive Economic Offender

Making a rather ironic statement on the bailout of Jet Airways, the 'Fugitive Economic Offender' Vijay Mallya on Tuesday said that it was a welcome step by the PSU banks of bailing out Jet Airways by providing them a package of Rs 1500 cr. He added that the same could've been done for Kingfisher Airlines as well. Mallya took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and expressed his opinions.

"Happy to see that PSU Banks have bailed out Jet Airways saving jobs, connectivity and enterprise. Only wish the same was done for Kingfisher," he tweeted.

He, thereby, blamed the Indian banks for letting 'India's finest airline' shut by not providing the financial aid.

Mallya has been declared the 'first Indian Fugitive Economic Offender' after his involvement in a Rs 9000 crore loan scam and is under the process of Extradition from London.

Ironically enough, he asked banks to 'take his money' and bail out Jet Airways.

"And I repeat once again that I have placed liquid assets before the Hon'ble Karnataka High Court to pay off the PSU Banks and all other creditors. Why do the Banks not take my money. It will help them to save Jet Airways if nothing else (sic)," he tweeted.
In the recent development of the fate of Jet Airways, founder Naresh Goyal and his wife stepped down from their position after the crucial board meeting on Monday.
