On Tuesday afternoon, one and a half-year-old boy was found lying in a pool of blood in a field in Munger district of Bihar. The villagers were shocked to see the child as his stomach who was torn apart leaving his heart, intestines, and liver completely exposed.

The incident took place at Sondiha Tanti Tola under Tarapur police station.

Ashish Kumar, the only child of Krishna Tanti, a daily wager was found bleeding profusely in a field just about a hundred meters away from his house.

The locals immediately informed the police about the incident following which the child was rushed to the nearby health center.

The doctors immediately carried out a surgery stitched the child's stomach. He was later referred to Bhagalpur for advanced treatment.

Rekha Devi, the child's mother informed her husband who had gone out for work. She said that her child Ashish was playing outside the house when she suddenly heard people screaming. She rushed outside and found that just a hundred meters away from the house her son Ashish was lying in a pool of blood with his internal organs exposed.

Initially, the locals believed that it was done by child-lifters. However, the villagers refrained from believing rumors and took the child to the nearby hospital for treatment.

"My family has no enmity with anyone. We are not aware whether this incident is the handiwork of the child lifters", said Rekha Devi.

Police have, however, started investigating the case.

An FIR has been registered against unidentified persons but they are also clueless as to who the culprits could be.

"This child was attacked with a sharp weapon and was brought to the hospital bleeding. We have registered an FIR and started an investigation," said Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tarapur, Munger.
