Nirbhaya Rape and Murder Case: President denies mercy plea of Vinay Sharma

As the information acquired from the sources, it is clear now the President Ram Nath Kovind has disapproved the mercy plea filed by one of the death-row convicts, Vinay Sharma, in Nirbhaya Rape and Murder Case.

However, the four men were scheduled to be hanged on February 1, Delhi Courts on Friday has postponed execution of the convicts as their Advocate AP Singh said their legal remedies have not been exhausted.

Of the four convicts, Mukesh Singh is the oldest (31), who had utilised all of his legal remedies. His clemency plea was dismissed, and his review petition was thrown out of the apex court.

The judge who passed the order adjourning the convict's execution has took a note of their "dilatory tactics." Death warrants of the convicts has been postponed twice.

Asha Devi, Nirbhaya's mother, said her hopes had been crushed and the convicts have not no right to live. She further added, by the time justice is not served to my daughter, I would keep on fighting.
