The Public Works Department of the Punjab
Government has suspended four of its engineers. They were re-carpeting a road
amid rain in the Hoshiarpur district. One of the workers from the ruling Aam
Aadmi Party shot their video and posted it on social media which soon went
viral. Three suspended engineers are Sub-Divisional Engineer Tarsam Singh, Junior Engineer Vipan
Kumar, Praveen Kumar, and Jasbir Singh.
Even after objection,
they kept on working:
The road was being constructed
in the Chabbewal Vidhan Sabha Constituency in the Hoshiarpur district. The road
on which the work was going on connects Nangal Khildiya and Sherpur villages in the Mahilpur block. While they were working Gurvinder Singh the AAP worker was
passing by and stopped them from doing the work. They ignored him and kept on
working.
The officers were
negligent in their job:
The Principle Secretary
of PWD, Punjab Government issued the notice. The notice mentioned that a video
is viral on the internet showing the workers, working while it was raining.
With immediate effect, these four officers are being suspended.
