A shocking video has been making rounds on social media where two boys can be seen lying on the ground while they were being dragged with a pickup van with their legs being tied to it in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore.

Reports citing Police that surfaced say that the two minors were treated this way over the suspicion that the two have stolen a mobile phone and Rs. 10,000 cash from a retail vegetable businessman.

The incident has been found to be from the Choithram vegetable market on Saturday morning. The video which has gone viral now shows two boys roughly in the age group of 13-17 years who can be seen dragged through a pick-up van after being tied to it with a rope.

The vehicle dragged the duo for about 20 feet before the onlookers started shouting and stopped the vehicle. Police over the complaint has taken cognizance of the matter.

Narrating the incident about the viral video Ajay Mishra, the town Inspector said, “A case is being registered against the businessman, Ajay Verma, and three others for atrocities against the minors.”

He continued saying, “In the morning, Verma was sleeping in his loading vehicle when the two boys stole cash and a mobile. After he woke up, Verma, his driver, and two others caught the boys. They frisked them and found money and a mobile.”

ACP Nihit Upadhyaya while briefing the media said that a case of theft has been registered in the incident against the minor before the video went viral, however, the police will now assess the matter and will deal accordingly against Verma and three others.

Condemning the act of the vegetable businessman and his aides’ behavior toward the two boys, ACP Upadhyaya termed it as “absolutely objectionable.”
