Indian students going abroad to seek better opportunities is not a new phenomenon but what has caught everybody’s concern is the long waiting time just to get an appointment from the embassy. Reportedly, Indians who have applied for US visas are being shown appointments after almost 2 years or more than that whereas the students of other countries are not sailing in the same boat. The huge difference between the period has raised controversy over social media today.

On being questioned about the same, the US embassy officials stated that the huge wait time remains due to the high demand for visas, pandemic-related concerns and reduced staffing. The question that raises here, these problems were faced by the other countries as well, then why does only India has to accept the bitter part of it?

Going by the information, out of all the Indian students that go to the US for studies, 20% of them are Indians, not only that the US embassy reveals that the population of Indians in the country is almost touching the 5 million mark. The huge number of Indian students wanting to come to the US is likely to be the reason for the delay in the appointment of visas.

Talking to the owner of Big Dreams Oversees, Ashish Ahuja revealed there are no specific reasons informed by the US officials about the delay of the visa appointment in India.

According to the study visa experts, after this report has come up the Indian students are under stress. The delay in the whole visa process has created tension amongst the students wanting to go to the US. The US embassy has however assured to get this issue resolved soon.
