The popular skiing destination of Gulmarg in Kashmir was doused in snow in a mesmerising landscape this Sunday morning. The captivating sights were captured on drone footage, in which the picturesque wilderness can be seen doused in white from a bird’s eye view. The minimum temperature in Gulmarg has been below freezing point for the past 4 days. On Sunday, it dropped to -7 °C, which is 1°C above the normal temperature. The maximum temperature at the ski resort was recorded to be a chilling -1.6°C, which 3°C below normal.

But amid the inclement weather, the snow-capped trees of the wilderness provided the tourists with a beautiful view that was worth every penny that they paid to enjoy the destination. Gulmarg witnesses a massive influx of tourists every year, thanks to its landscape and snowfall. Tourists from all around the world, such as Japan, New Zealand and Australia flock to Gulmarg every year to enjoy skiing over the picturesque hills.

However, normal life was affected across Kashmir as all flights were cancelled from the Srinagar Airport. Traffic on the strategic 270-km Jammu-Srinagar national highway was stopped for nearly four hours, following a landslide in Jammu's Ramban district, officials said. In a statement, IndiGo said that six of its flights were cancelled.
