On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi surprised CBSE students and parents in a virtual CBSE session. PM Modi surprisingly joined the session organized by the Education Ministry. 

There PM asked the students to utilize their time in a productive and creative manner as the board exams have been canceled. 

PM Modi said, “Students of Class 12 always keep thinking of the future. Till 1st June, you all must have been preparing for the exams.”

To this, a student responded, “Sir, you have said that exams should be celebrated as a festival. So, there was no fear in my mind for examination.”

The Prime Minister further said about the mantra ‘Health is Wealth’ and later enquired that what they all do to remain physically fit. Then, he asked the students whether they are excited to watch rescheduled IPL or are waiting for the Olympics. 

PM Modi later asked them to research and write an essay on the 75th Independence Day of India.

On Tuesday, the government decided to cancel the board exams of Class 12th amid a pandemic. PM Narendra Modi during the announcement said that the decision has been taken in the interest of students, parents, and teachers. 

The above decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by PM Narendra Modi. In the meeting, it was also decided that the result of Class 12 students would comply with well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner.
