Weather Alert: IMD issues orange alert in Punjab; THESE areas to experience rain & strong winds

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange alert for 8 districts along with a warning of strong winds and rain

Punjab is seeing a change in weather due to effects of Western Disturbance. Cloudy sky and light rain was experienced in several districts this morning. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange alert for 8 districts along with a warning of strong winds and rain. The IMD informs that strong winds will blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers in these areas. Along with this, there is also a possibility of lightning. Also, it has been advised by the IMD to keep the crops in safe places.

 

According to the Meteorological Department the weather is expected to change in the following areas:

  • Sangrur,
  • Barnala,
  • Tapa,
  • Dhuri,
  • Malerkotla,
  • Moonak,
  • Patra,
  • Samana,

  • Fatehgarh Sahib,
  • Amloh,
  • Talwandi Sabo,
  • Malout,
  • Bathinda,
  • Giddarbaha,
  • Rajpura,

Changes in temperature:

The effect of changing weather on temperature is also clearly visible. While people were forced to run ACs and coolers etc. due to the heat, there is now relief from the heat as temperature has plummeted. The maximum temperature in Amritsar was recorded at 35.8 degrees and the minimum at 18.1 degrees, which waslowest in Punjab. Apart from this, Ludhiana has recorded a minimum temperature of 23.6 degrees and Jalandhar 22.2 degrees.
