Wrestlers vs Centre

Last week, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Anurag Thakur met protesting wrestlers and them that the Delhi Police has been asked to file the charge sheet by June 15. Following that, the protesting wrestlers nodded to halt the protest and gave the government of India a deadline of June 15. During the meeting, reports suggest that the wrestlers placed four demands — the arrest of WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, withdrawal of FIRs against the wrestlers, removal of Brij Bhushan and any of his family member from the WFI, and appointment of a woman president in the apex wrestling body. It was also reported that Union Minister Anurag Thakur had accepted their demands. Notably, the wrestlers have been demanding a probe against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and his arrest, accusing him of sexually exploiting upcoming wrestlers, including a minor. However, the Delhi Police filed a cancellation report of the POCSO and how the wrestlers will react to it, only time can tell.
